TestHealer

Redesign without breaking tests.

After a redesign, find every UI test selector that broke, the element it meant, and a verified fix as a diff. The same for API version bumps.

test-mender · example
$ test-mender ui tests --page checkout-after.html --before checkout-before.html
18 selector(s) in 4 file(s): 3 ok, 15 broken (14 with a confident fix), 2 brittle
✗ checkout.spec.ts:11 getByRole(role=button[name="Place order"])
fix (high): role=button[name="Pay now"]
✗ test_checkout_selenium.py:7 By.XPATH(//button[@id='submit-btn'])
fix (high): //*[@data-testid='place-order']

The problem

Every UI redesign or API version breaks hundreds of tests. Engineers spend days updating selectors by hand, or the suite gets switched off.

What it does

01

Playwright, Cypress, Selenium and Testing Library tests, in JS, TS, Python and Java

02

Finds what a broken selector meant from the old page, then the closest element on the new one

03

Proposes the most robust selector (test id, form name, role and name) and checks it matches exactly one element

04

Keeps your style: getByRole stays getByRole, By.ID stays By.ID

05

Flags brittle selectors that still work: nth-child, generated classes, absolute XPath

06

API tests: renamed paths, fields and status codes from two OpenAPI specs, applied to tests and Postman collections

07

Only confident fixes are written; you review a diff

How it works

  1. Save the page before and after the change
  2. Run it on your test folder
  3. Review the diff and commit

Your data

  • Runs on your test suite locally.
  • Fixes arrive as diffs you review.
  • Nothing is committed for you.

Questions

How does it know the right element?

It fingerprints the element the old selector found and locates the same element on the new page.

What about API tests?

It diffs the OpenAPI versions and rewrites the affected requests and Postman collections.
